This is just intended to be a brief overview of my work & playing experience to date, so here goes.

I began playing the saxophone in 1986 at the age of twenty and secured a place at the Royal Northern College of Music three years later.

While still a student I was lucky enough to have worked for a range of major artists such as Shirley Bassey, Barry White and Paul Anka, mainly as a member of the house band at the Sporting Club of Monte Carlo.

Since then I have performed as a session musician and a soloist playing all over the UK, as well as in France, Monaco, Germany and the US.

I have been told that I have a melodic and soulful style, playing music that I like with sensitivity and passion. My taste and approach lends itself to many styles particularly jazz, funk and soul music.

One of my main creative vehicles is with the quintet that I co-run with my long time partner Julie Edwards, but more about this later on my playing history page.

A recent development for me is my growing interest in the guitar. I began to study it seriously in Sept 05 and it has now taken over as my instrument of choice and my first love in music. I effectively stopped performing on saxophone in 2007 in favour of the guitar.

I currently perfrom commercialy with two groups. Firstly a band, called "The Party Animals". they mainly play for large corporate occasions and weddings, you can find out more by visiting partyanimalsband.co.uk. The second unit is duo named "Eden". This is again a collaboration with Julie and specialises in performing a more soul & Jazz based program ideal for a quieter, more sophisticated situation.

I have also been involved in jazz education and have in the past designed and developed HND & HNC jazz programmes that were vaildated by "Edexcel". I also taught and co-ordinated both of these courses.
