I began playing the saxophone in 1986 at the age of twenty and secured a place at the Royal Northern College of Music three years later.

While still a student I was lucky enough to backed a range of major artists such as Shirley Bassey, Barry White and Paul Anka, mainly as a member of the house band at the Sporting Club of Monte Carlo.

Since then I have performed as a session musician and a soloist playing all over the UK, as well as in France, Monaco, Germany and the US.

I have been told that I have a melodic and soulful style, playing music that I like with sensitivity and passion. My taste and approach lends itself to many styles particularly jazz, funk and soul music.

I currently perfrom commercialy with two groups. Firstly a successful function band, called "Jules" playing for large corporate occasions and weddings. And secondly as a duo named "Eden". This is a collaboration with his vocalist partner "Julie Edwards" and specialises in performing a more soul based program ideal for a quieter, more sophisticated situation.

I am also actively involved in jazz education and have in the past designed and developed HND & HNC jazz programmes that were vaildated by "Edexcel". I also taught and coordinated both of these courses.

A recent development for me is my growing interest in the guitar. I began to study it seriously in Sept 05 and have now begun to perform as often as possible. This is a bit of a passion at the moment so watch this space.
