teaching history
education units
I have over 20years of teaching experience over a wide age range.

I have designed and developed several courses, including an HND/C course in Jazz Studies in 2000 (validated by Edexcel), the
Intermediate Diploma in Popular Music (validated by the Open College Network) in 1995 and the Intermediate Diploma in Music course in 1994 (validated by Wakefield College), all of which I have co-ordinated and taught.

I currently teach saxophone at King's School in Macclesfield where I also direct the school big bands. In my time at the school I have also formed and directed the KIng's School Jazz Octet, King's School Salsa Band and coached a number of saxophone ensembles.

From 1993 to 1995 I was the Director Of Music for the Bradford University Big Band, as well as the university saxophone tutor.

In 1990 I directed the Royal Northern College of Music jazz ensemble (a 16-piece big band). I was also the improvisation tutor for the RNCM Junior School as well as founder and director of the RNCM Junior School Jazz Band.
